Boral® Blue Circle® Black Oxide is an iron oxide pigment designed to easily create black coloured concrete, mortar, grout, or render. Achieve darker or lighter shades by adjusting the amount of oxide added. Oxide should be added by volume based on the amount of cement in your mix, not the total aggregate. The pigment integrates firmly into the concrete, offering weather and alkali resistance, and is safe and economical to use.

Usage Guidelines

Oxide should be mixed by volume relative to the amount of cement. Standard mix: 3:1 sand to cement by weight, with oxide dosage at 5% by weight of cement. To darken colour, increase oxide up to a maximum of 10% by weight of cement. Adding more than 10% will not deepen the shade further. Always conduct small trials to check final colour before full-scale application.
